Purchation
- Pronunciation:\ˈpər-chā-shən\
- Definition: (1)A Sociocratic form of barter,
where all the concerned
parties in the exchange of goods or services arrive at prices by
mutual
consent.
-
(2) A hybrid form of the words purchase and donation wherein the
parties agree to and set the price of goods and/or services based on
more than the costs involved (such as mission, cause, mutual
interest.) This concept has been brought about in some respects
because of modern communication via the internet, etc. Rather
than receiving some mass-produced, inexpensive item in return for their
donations, the purchationers recieve something of real value in
exchange for their participation. Both parties feel they have
received intangible benefits the interaction.
