Terri Markle was
born
Teresa Celine Huckabone
in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 16, 1951. She moved with her
family to Sanford, Florida when she was eight years old.
Although her mother, father, and six sisters have since moved from
Sanford, Terri continues to reside there with her immediate family, her
two cats.
She attended Seminole County
Public Schools and All Souls Parochial School in Sanford, and graduated from Seminole
High School in 1969 where she had been a member of the Chorus, the French Club, and the National Honor Society.
Miss Huckabone (Terri)
attended Seminole Community College in the early 1970’s and
graduated
Magma Cum Laud in June 1974 with an
Associate of Arts in Education.
Ms. Markle worked for nineteen years as a legal secretary before
going
back to school to study Art. While she worked as a secretary she
drew a lot of pictures, painted a few Icons for her Church, and
designed and sewed her own clothes to answer the call of the muse
within. It was not enough, however, so in the late 1980’s she
attended Stetson University
in Deland, Florida, and in 1989
graduated Magma Cum Laud with a Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Art and
minoring in Education.
She has been teaching Art in Seminole County, Florida, for the
past 17 years, and is active in the Seminole County Art Education
Association, the Florida Art Education
Association, (she is the past Chairperson of the Elementary Division of the FAEA) and the National
Art Education Association. She also teaches a Cartooning and
Drawing Class and a Science Fiction and Fantasy Drawing Class at
Maitland Art Center. She has taught workshops for the the Seminole County Art Education Association, and
at the annual conventions of the Florida Art Education Association and
the National Art Education Association. She is currently working
with fellow artist, Greg Pettengill in developing several projects.
Besides teaching art, she still makes art to quiet the muse within...or to keep her (the muse) from screaming too loudly.
Some of the awards and honors she has received are:
Showed six prints in Print Palooza, June 3 to June 28, 2006, Casselberry Art House,
Casselberry, Florida.

Masterworks Chorus and enjoys ballroom dancing and belly dancing.
She has traveled to China, Hong Kong, Austria, and England and hopes to
travel more in the future.
